Why Is My Water Vapor Fireplace Producing Less Mist on One Side?

If your water vapor fireplace produces strong mist on one side but noticeably less mist on the other, it does not always mean the fireplace has a major problem.

Uneven mist can be caused by airflow around the fireplace, mineral buildup inside the water system, or an individual atomizer that is not working properly.

Based on our real after-sales experience at EBLTH, the best approach is to check the simple causes first before replacing any parts.

What Does Uneven Mist Look Like?

A normal water vapor fireplace should produce a relatively even mist effect across the flame area.

You may have an uneven mist problem if:

  • One side produces noticeably more mist than the other.

  • One section has a strong flame effect while another section looks weak.

  • One area produces almost no visible mist.

  • The difference remains noticeable after the fireplace has been running for several minutes.

Before opening the fireplace, first check the surrounding environment.

1. Check the Airflow Around the Fireplace

Air conditioning can easily affect the appearance of water vapor.

If an AC vent, fan, or strong airflow is blowing toward one side of the fireplace, the mist may be pushed away before it rises through the flame area.

Turn off the nearby air conditioner or fan temporarily and run the fireplace again.

If the mist becomes more even, the fireplace itself may be working normally.

2. Clean the Water Tank and Atomizing Area

If the uneven mist remains, the next step is cleaning.

Mineral deposits and dirt can gradually build up around the atomizers, especially when the fireplace has been used for a long time without cleaning.

Drain the old water and clean the water tank and atomizing area carefully.

For EBLTH water vapor fireplaces, we recommend using drinking water during normal operation. Do not add perfume, essential oils, or other liquids to the water tank.

For mineral buildup, white vinegar can be used as part of the cleaning process.

3. Check Each Atomizer

If cleaning does not solve the problem, remove the upper cover so you can observe the atomizers while the fireplace is operating.

Depending on the EBLTH model, there are several atomizers installed inside the fireplace.

Compare them carefully.

A normally working atomizer should produce visible mist. If most atomizers are producing strong mist but one produces very little mist or no mist, that individual atomizer may need further inspection.

Do not assume that all atomizers need to be replaced because one section looks weaker.

4. Check the Ceramic Disc

The ceramic disc is an important part of the atomizer.

If an atomizer is not producing mist normally, inspect its ceramic surface carefully. Visible cracking or physical damage can indicate that the atomizer needs to be replaced.

In one of our real after-sales cases, checking the atomizers individually helped identify the source of uneven mist.

5. What Video Should You Send to EBLTH?

If you cannot determine which part is causing the problem, send us a clear video before requesting replacement parts.

Please record:

  1. The complete fireplace while it is running.

  2. The left and right sides so we can compare the mist output.

  3. The inside of the fireplace after removing the upper cover.

  4. A close view showing each atomizer operating.

  5. Any atomizer or ceramic disc that looks different, cracked, or damaged.

A clear video allows us to identify the problem more accurately and determine whether cleaning or a replacement part is required.

When Should an Atomizer Be Replaced?

Replacement may be necessary when an individual atomizer continues to produce little or no mist after proper cleaning, or when the ceramic disc has visible physical damage.

If you are unsure, contact EBLTH before replacing parts.

Our after-sales team can review your video and help determine the next step.

For EBLTH customers, replacement parts are covered under our 5-year warranty policy according to the applicable warranty terms.

Uneven Mist Usually Can Be Diagnosed Step by Step

When a water vapor fireplace has uneven mist, start with the surrounding airflow, then clean the water system and finally inspect each atomizer individually.

This troubleshooting order helps avoid unnecessary replacement of parts and makes it easier to identify the actual source of the problem.

If your EBLTH water vapor fireplace is producing less mist on one side, send us a clear video of the fireplace and atomizers. We can help you determine whether the problem is related to airflow, cleaning, or an individual atomizer.
