What Water Should You Use in a Water Vapor Fireplace?
If you own a water vapor fireplace, the type of water you use can affect the quality of the flame effect, the performance of the mist system, and the amount of maintenance required over time.
At EBLTH, we recommend using clean drinking water in your water vapor fireplace.
Why Does a Water Vapor Fireplace Need Water?
A water vapor fireplace creates its flame effect by turning water into a fine mist. LED lighting illuminates this mist to produce the appearance of moving flames.
Unlike an electric fireplace with a conventional LED flame display, the water vapor system depends on a clean and consistent water supply to create the mist effect.
What Water Should You Use in a Water Vapor Fireplace?
For EBLTH water vapor fireplaces, we recommend using clean drinking water.
Good-quality water helps keep the internal water system cleaner and reduces mineral buildup around components that are in regular contact with water.
If the water quality in your area is poor or contains a high level of minerals, using drinking water is especially important.
Can You Use Tap Water?
Tap water quality varies from one location to another.
Water with a high mineral content can gradually leave scale and deposits inside the fireplace. Over time, these deposits may accumulate around the atomizer heads, water chamber, or float mechanism.
This can contribute to problems such as reduced mist output, uneven mist, or a float that does not move freely.
Using clean drinking water helps reduce these maintenance issues.
How Does Water Quality Affect the Atomizer Heads and Float?
The atomizer heads are responsible for producing the fine mist that creates the flame effect.
Mineral deposits or dirt on the atomizer heads can reduce their performance. If you notice that the fireplace produces less mist than before or that one area produces less mist than another, cleaning may be required.
The float is also an important part of the water system. If deposits build up around it, the float may become stuck and can affect normal water control.
Regular cleaning and using suitable water can help keep these components working properly.
Can You Add Fragrance to a Water Vapor Fireplace?
No.
Do not add fragrance, perfume, scented liquids, or other additives to the water in an EBLTH water vapor fireplace.
The water system is designed to operate with water only. Other liquids can leave residue inside the system and may affect the atomizer heads and other internal components.
Can You Add Essential Oils?
No.
Essential oils should not be added to the water tank.
Oil can leave a coating on components inside the water system and interfere with normal mist production. If you want fragrance in your room, use a separate diffuser designed specifically for essential oils.
What Should You Do If the Fireplace Will Not Be Used for a Long Time?
If you plan to stop using your water vapor fireplace for an extended period, drain the water from the fireplace.
Do not leave old water sitting inside the unit for a long time. Standing water can leave deposits and make the internal water system more difficult to clean when you use the fireplace again.
Before moving the fireplace, always make sure the water has been completely drained.
For more information, read our guide on what to do when a water vapor fireplace has not been used for a long time.
What Should You Check Before Using It Again?
After a long period without use, check the water chamber and internal components before restarting the fireplace.
Make sure there is no visible dirt or heavy mineral buildup. Check that the float can move normally and inspect the atomizer area if necessary.
If deposits are present, clean the fireplace before regular use. Then add fresh drinking water and test the mist output.
Does a Water Vapor Fireplace Need a Water Pipe?
Not necessarily.
EBLTH water vapor fireplaces use a water system that allows water to be supplied to the fireplace without requiring a permanent household water connection in many installations.
If you are planning a TV wall or built-in fireplace installation, read our guide on whether a water vapor fireplace needs a water pipe before completing the wall.
Simple Water Care for Better Performance
For daily use, the rule is simple: use clean drinking water and do not add anything else to it.
Keeping the water system clean can reduce mineral buildup and help the atomizer heads, float, and mist system continue to operate correctly.
