How to Choose the Right Electric Fireplace Size Before Ordering

How to Prepare the Correct Fireplace Opening

Choosing the correct fireplace size is one of the most common questions we receive.

Many customers measure the TV, the cabinet, or the entire wall, but the most important measurement is the opening where the fireplace will be installed.

Recently, one customer contacted us and asked for a 69 fireplace. At first, we thought he meant 69 cm, so we recommended our smallest model. After confirming the details, we realized he actually meant 69 inches. A simple conversation prevented ordering the wrong fireplace.

If you're planning a new TV wall or replacing an old fireplace, these simple steps will help you choose the correct size.

Step 1. Measure the Fireplace Opening

If your TV wall or cabinet has already been built, measure the opening where the fireplace will be installed.

Do not measure:

  • The TV
  • The entire cabinet
  • The whole wall

Only measure the opening prepared for the fireplace.

Step 2. Planning a New TV Wall?

If your TV wall has not been built yet, the easiest method is to choose the fireplace first.

Once you know the fireplace model, your carpenter or contractor can build the cabinet according to the product dimensions.

This helps avoid expensive modifications later.

Step 3. Send Us These Three Measurements

If you are unsure which model to buy, simply send us:

  • Opening Width
  • Opening Height
  • Opening Depth

You can also send us a photo of your TV wall.

Our team will recommend the most suitable fireplace size before you place your order.

Common Questions

Should the fireplace be the same width as the TV?

Not necessarily.

Some customers prefer the fireplace to be shorter than the TV, while others choose a longer fireplace for a more luxurious appearance.

The best size depends on your room layout and cabinet design.

Should I measure in centimeters or inches?

Either is fine.

Just let us know which unit you are using.

Many ordering mistakes happen because customers mention only the number without saying whether it is centimeters or inches.

Can I build the cabinet first?

Yes.

However, we recommend selecting the fireplace model before building the cabinet.

This ensures the opening matches the fireplace dimensions and avoids unnecessary adjustments.
